Senegal intends to rapidly conclude a new International Monetary Fund program as talks continue with a delegation from the multilateral lender in Dakar this week.
A team led by Finance Minister Cheikh Diba met IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva at the IMF’s annual meetings last week in Washington, where both sides expressed a “shared commitment to move quickly toward a new program,” a finance ministry spokesman said in a statement late Sunday.
