Billionaire real estate developer John Catsimatidis urged Curtis Sliwa, the Republican nominee for New York Mayor, to drop out of the race as pressure builds on the Guardian Angels founder to make it easier for Andrew Cuomo to challenge frontrunner Zohran Mamdani.

Catsimatidis, a long-time Republican who ran for Mayor more than a decade ago, said in a statement that the move is essential to consolidating support behind a “viable alternative” and avoiding a potentially damaging outcome for the city if the vote remains divided.
