Dangote Industries Ltd. asked Nigerian authorities to intervene in a dispute with a petroleum workers union to avert a disruption in refinery operations and supplies to residents.

The request came after the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria late Saturday directed its members in exploration companies including TotalEnergies E&P, Seplat Producing Nigeria Unlimited and Chevron to shut crude supply valves and gas supply to the refinery. The move was in protest against layoffs of its members working at the refinery for allegedly joining the union.
