In a significant financial move, Algeria is set to raise approximately 297 billion dinars (around $2.3 billion) through its inaugural issuance of sovereign sukuk. This initiative aims to mitigate the country’s increasing budget deficit.
According to a government document cited by Asharq, the seven-year Islamic bonds will be available exclusively to Algerian investors, both domestically and abroad. However, foreign investors will not be permitted to participate in the two-month subscription period, which is scheduled to commence on November 2.
