Italy has achieved its first credit rating upgrade from Fitch Ratings since 2021, a move that recognizes the deficit-reduction measures implemented by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s administration. This upgrade reflects growing confidence in the country’s economic management.

On Friday, Fitch announced it has raised Italy’s credit rating by one notch to BBB+, positioning it three levels above junk status. The agency also indicated that the outlook for Italy’s economy is now stable, signaling positive momentum for the eurozone’s third-largest economy.
