Raw sugar futures in New York sank to their lowest level in five years, deepening yesterday’s intraday slide, amid mounting forecasts of a global supply glut.
The most actively-traded contract fell as much as 2.43%, trading at 14.07 cents a pound on Thursday. So far this month, raw sugar futures have slid 14%, the biggest monthly drop since December 2023.
