Thailand’s Foreign Minister, Sihasak Phuangketkeow, announced that the nation will sign a «joint declaration» with Cambodia aimed at resolving a border dispute that has led to violent confrontations earlier this year. This agreement is expected to be formalized during the upcoming ASEAN Summit.

In a press conference held in Bangkok, Sihasak highlighted that Thailand has achieved significant progress on several critical issues during discussions with Cambodia. Key developments include the withdrawal of heavy weaponry and the clearance of landmines in disputed border areas. Additionally, both countries have agreed to intensify efforts to combat transnational cyber scams and to address the relocation of Cambodian nationals who have encroached upon Thai territory.
