New York City Mayor Eric Adams has officially suspended his reelection campaign as he faces declining poll numbers and increasing pressure from political and business leaders seeking a more formidable contender against Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani.
In a video announcement shared on X, Adams, who was running as an independent candidate, stated, “Despite all we’ve accomplished, I cannot continue my reelection campaign. The ongoing media speculation regarding my future and the campaign finance board’s decision to withhold millions of dollars have severely impacted my ability to secure the necessary funds for a viable campaign.”
